Earlier senior doctor was also the hospital manager. Now this has changed.

These days majority hospitals function 24/7. Every day they must be prepared to handle anything from common cold, life threatening diseases to emergency and disasters. Various departments that operate complex lifesaving equipment to housekeeping must be coordinated for the hospital to function effectively. This is where a hospital manager comes in. The person must manage various departments, irate customers and ensure smooth running of the hospital at the same time.
Hospital management course prepare the candidate to deal with employees, medical teams, patients and their family, community, suppliers of equipment and other resources. The candidate must also understand the function of various departments, have tact, communication and presentation skills. The profession will require the candidate to face the challenges and requirements of the modern hospitals.
Certificate, diploma, bachelors and master’s degree courses are available for hospital management. The eligibility varies depending on the course.
For diploma or certificate course a bachelor’s degree is required. For bachelor degree, class 12 or equivalent with Biology is required.
For MBA in Hospital Management you require a bachelor’s degree. Some colleges criteria for admission is MBBS.
After completing Bachelor in Hospital Management (BHA) you can do Master in Hospital Management (MHA) or M.Phil or Ph.D to advance in your career.
