What a proud moment for the Malayalam film industry at the IFFI!!!  Why not??  After all, for the first time a Malayalam cinema, Ee.Ma.Yau, has bagged two honours at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

IFFI awarded Lijo Jose for the Best Director and Chemban Vinod for the Best Actor (Male).  Both the awards were for the film ‘Ee.Ma.Yau’.  For Lijo Jose, its one more feather on the cap as he had also won the Kerala State Awards 2018 for the Best Director.

P. F. Mathews is the writer of Ee.Ma.Yau, which is a dark satire.  The story revolves around a young man, Eeshi, who runs around with the aim of giving his dad a decent funeral.  Eventually the whole story depicts the struggles of Eeshi which is portrayed successfully by Chemban Vinod.
