Awake brain surgery is to treat neurological conditions such as tumours that affect the areas of the brain responsible for vision, movement or speech. For inflict minimal damage on healthy tissue, the surgeon can ask the patient to engage in an activity during the operation. So the method allows the surgeon to monitor the patient while they work on their brain functions.
